Life Along the Way | Ephesians 4:31-32

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Hello Sojourners,

I hope that you are staying warm and have enjoyed the first snow of the winter.

This week we will be in Ephesians 4:31-32. As I mentioned last Sunday, we will be talking about bitterness.

Take time to read, pray, and study ahead of Sunday. Here are some questions to consider as you do so:

  • Read back further to Ephesians 4:17-32 to gain context. What is Paul talking about here? How is this similar to what was preached on this past Sunday from Colossians 3?
  • How does understanding putting of your old self and putting on your new self impact what Paul says about bitterness, anger, etc.?
  • Why do you think he mentions bitterness specifically? How do the other sins in v. 31 connect to bitterness?
  • How does the put on actions of v. 32 impact the put off actions of v. 31?
  • Will you pray for yourself and our community, that we would together let all bitterness be put away?
  • Who is someone you can encourage this week with something you learned from this text?

Be who you are in Christ this week. See you Sunday!

.grace and peace.
