Life Along the Way | Psalm 139

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Hello Sojourners,

I am still giving thanks over our Member Meeting on Sunday and excited about what's ahead for our church as we strive to be disciples who make disciples.

I've also been reflecting, processing, and praying about the sermon from this past Sunday, in our new Life Along the Way series, addressing bitterness. If you didn't get a chance to listen to it, please take some time to do so this week. You can find it here or in our new app.

Also, I am going to try and send out another note soon with some further thoughts on bitterness, particularly toward God, so be on the lookout for that.

This week we will be in Psalm 139.

Here are some questions to consider as you study the text ahead of Sunday:

  • As you read this Psalm, what jumps out to you about the way David speaks about God and his care for David, and by extension, people?
  • What do you learn about God's nature and character from this text?
  • Read v. 13-16 again. What is David praising God for here? Why does this matter when it comes to how we view life?
  • How can the truth of this Psalm help us engage with others, especially those who are struggling?
  • Who is someone you can encourage this week with something you learned from this text?

I hope you have a blessed rest of the week. May the joy of the Lord be your strength.

.grace and peace.
