Seeing Jesus | John 1:19-34

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Hey Sojourn Family,

We've wrapped up the introduction to John (1:1-18) in our Seeing Jesus sermon series. If you've missed any sermons or want to share with a friend you can find all sermons from the series here:

This Sunday we will be in John 1:19-34.

Verses to memorize: John 1:29

Here are some questions to consider as you study the text ahead of Sunday:

  • What is significant about the question, "Who are you?" asked by the priests and Levites to John the Baptist?
  • Why do they think he might be Elijah or the Prophet?
  • What is significant about John identifying himself in v. 23 with the text in Isaiah 40:3?
  • What do we learn about John's character in this text?
  • What do we learn about Jesus?
  • What is significant about v. 29 and John's declaration of who Jesus is?
  • How does this text challenge and encourage you?
  • Who is someone you can encourage this week with something you learned from this text?

Have a great rest of the week seeing Jesus!

.grace and peace.
Justin
