Study Questions: John 12:12-26

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Sojourners,

It was a joy to gather with you online and in-person this past Sunday along with our brothers and sisters from RGC.

This Sunday, Lord willing, we will gather again at 5PM and be back in our Seeing Jesus sermon series.

This week we will be in John 12:12-26.

Here are some questions to consider as you study the text ahead of Sunday:

  • What sticks out to you about the scene that unfolds in v. 12-14?
  • What is significant about John's comment on and reference to Zechariah 9:9 in v. 14-15?
  • What is significant about what the Pharisees say in v. 19? How do you see this playing out in this text and beyond?
  • Two Greeks (gentiles) ask to see Jesus in v. 20-21. Why does Jesus respond the way he does in v. 23-26? What he is seeking to communicate to them and to us?
  • How does Jesus' statement in v. 23-26 connect and compare with the triumphal entry in v. 12-14?
  • What do we learn about the King and his Kingdom from these verses? How does this impact how we live and engage as followers of Jesus now?
  • Who is someone you can encourage this week with something you learned from this text?

Fix your eyes on Jesus this week! See you Sunday!

.grace and peace.
Justin
