Study Questions: John 12:27-36

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Sojourners,

I hope that our time in the gospel of John has been encouraging, refreshing, challenging, and insightful for you as we've been striving together to see Jesus clearly so that we might follow him fully.

This week we will be in John 12:27-36.

Here are some questions for you to consider as you study the text ahead of Sunday:

  • What do we learn about Jesus in v. 27-28 as he looks ahead to the cross?
  • What is significant about the audible voice of God and the response of the people in v. 28-29?
  • What is significant about what Jesus says in v. 31-32? Why does this matter to us? How does it encourage or challenge you?
  • The crowd struggles to understand the need for Jesus to die in their place. Jesus responds indirectly to their question in v. 35-36. Why does he do this? What is he seeking to communicate? How is this relevant to your life here and now?
  • Who is someone you can encourage this week with something you learned from the text?

Enjoy Jesus this week!

.grace and peace.
Justin
