Study Questions: John 13:34-35

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Hello Family,

I hope you're enjoying the truth of the resurrection this week and the glorious living hope and rejoicing hope it gives to you!

This coming Sunday we will be in John 13. I'd encourage you to read the whole chapter. The sermon will focus in more on John 13:34-35.

Here are some questions to consider as you study the text ahead of Sunday:

  • What is the context for this chapter in the larger gospel narrative?
  • In light of all of John 13, what is significant about Jesus calling the disciples (and us) to "love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another"?
  • According to v. 35, why does it matter? What is significant about our life together when it comes to being a community on mission?
  • What does this look like practically in your life and our life together?
  • Where is repentance needed and how can we walk in grace to be who Jesus has called us to be?
  • Who is someone you can encourage this week from something you learned from the text?

Have a great rest of the week enjoying our Risen Savior!

.grace and peace.
Justin
