Study Questions: Luke 6:17-26

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Hello Sojourners,

This Sunday we will be gathering with Redeeming Grace Church again for a joint service at 10AM in their lower parking lot.

They have been in a series in Luke 4-6. I had the privilege of preaching in July out of Luke 4:31-44. If you want to listen to that sermon or any from the series you can find the pre-recorded sermons here.

This Sunday we will be in Luke 6:17-26.

Here are some questions to consider as you study the text ahead of Sunday:

  • What is the context of this passage of Scripture?
  • What stands out to you about this scene? What draws you in?
  • In v. 17-18 it says a great multitude came to hear Jesus and be healed. What do you learn about Jesus' ministry from these verses?
  • What does it mean to be blessed in v. 20-22? How is that contrasted with the woes given in v. 24-26?
  • Go back and read Luke 4:18-19. How does the pronouncement of blessings and woes in Luke 6:20-26 connect with those verses?
  • What is Jesus seeking to communicate to the crowd and to us? How does this impact how we live our lives before him and in the world now?
  • Who is someone you can encourage with something you learned from this text?

Be captivated by Jesus this week!

.grace and peace.
