Study Questions: Philippians 1:3-6

Posted by Justin Pearson on

Saints of Sojourn,

It was a great joy as always to gather with you yesterday and dive into Philippians together. I pray that you would reflect on and rest in the call and reality that you are servants of and saints in Christ Jesus this week!

This coming Sunday we will be walking through Philippians 1:3-6.

As I mentioned last week, we are encouraging you to spend 5 of the next 7 days reading through the text. Use the basic Bible study method I posted last week as a tool to guide your time.

Here are some additional questions for you to consider answering/journaling about as you soak in God's word this week and prepare for Sunday together.

Study and Reflection Questions:

  • What does it mean to pray with joy? Why is Paul so joyful in his prayer for the Philippians?
  • What role does prayer play in your life? Do you pray for and give thanks for your community? Why or why not? Consider doing so now.
  • What does Philippians 1:6 mean? Is it encouraging to you? If yes, how so?
  • Compare Philippians 1:6 and 2:12-13. How do these two passages complement each other?
  • Who can you encourage this week with something you learned from this text?

As always, let us know if you have any thoughts or questions about the text or about the sermon from the previous Sunday.

Have a great week in God's word!

.grace and peace.
